Google, Blackstone launch AI cloud

Google and Blackstone have launched a $5 billion joint venture to build a new generation of AI-focused data centers.

The partnership combines Google's advanced Tensor Processing Unit technology with Blackstone's massive real estate and infrastructure expertise.

The project aims to meet the skyrocketing demand for the specialized compute power required to train and run generative AI models.

Initial construction is set to begin in several key global markets, including North America and Europe, later this year.
