Everest climbing route delayed

An aerial survey is planned to evaluate the stability of the ice block, which has halted all progress toward the world's highest peak.

Climbers would normally be conducting acclimatisation exercises at this stage, but the delay has disrupted the tight seasonal window for summit attempts.

Mountaineering officials in Kathmandu stated that the safety of the hundreds of individuals currently at base camp is the top priority.
