Kennedy Center Tarp Sparks Judicial Pressure

U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper demanded that the Kennedy Center's board provide a detailed explanation by the end of July for the tarpaulin covering the building's exterior, where Donald Trump's name had been displayed until a court ordered its removal.

The tarp appeared immediately after the name was taken down, leading lawyers fighting the naming to accuse the center of sabotaging the facade to appease Trump's ego.

The Kennedy Center, already largely vacant due to staffing and programming losses, must also update the court on its operational plans.

The controversy underscores the ongoing legal and symbolic battles over Trump's imprint on cultural institutions.
