Gilgo Beach Killer Pleads Guilty

In a dramatic shift in legal strategy, Rex Heuermann changed his plea to guilty for the murders of seven women and admitted to an eighth previously uncharged killing.

The string of dismemberment murders, which began in the 1990s, remained unsolved for over a decade until DNA evidence led to Heuermann's arrest in 2023.

Victims' families and Heuermann's ex-wife were present in the courtroom as he confirmed his role in the heinous crimes.

The guilty plea ensures that the 62-year-old will spend the remainder of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
