Bristol explosion kills two

A powerful house explosion in Frenchay, Bristol, has resulted in the deaths of 35-year-old Joanne Shaw and her 41-year-old ex-partner, Ryan Kelly.

Police are investigating the incident as a homicide, following reports that Kelly detonated a hand grenade on the doorstep of Shaw's parents' home.

Witnesses claim Shaw saved her child's life by instructing them to play outside on a trampoline seconds before the blast.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct has been notified due to prior domestic incidents reported between the pair.
