Macron and Mitsotakis renew pact

President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis have reaffirmed the strategic partnership between France and Greece during a high-level meeting in Athens.

The two leaders renewed a bilateral defense pact that includes mutual assistance clauses and expanded military cooperation.

Macron also urged French companies to increase their investments in Greece's rapidly growing economy.

Additionally, both nations are pushing for the European Union to extend repayment deadlines on its post-pandemic Recovery Fund to facilitate further joint investments.
