ICE Acting Director Resigns
The Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that acting ICE chief Todd Lyons will step down from his position at the end of next month.
Lyons has been a central figure in executing President Trump's immigration policies, including a surge in enforcement actions and controversial detention practices.
His departure comes amid growing scrutiny over a record number of detainee deaths and a series of legal challenges against the agency's operations.
While Lyons cited a desire to spend more time with his family, his exit marks a significant leadership change for the agency responsible for the administration's high-priority border and interior enforcement agenda.
