Cyclosporiasis Outbreak Linked to Lettuce

Health officials in Michigan identified lettuce and salad greens as the likely source of a nationwide cyclosporiasis outbreak that has sickened thousands across 31 states and led to 86 hospitalisations.

Taco Bell is under investigation as a possible vector, while the CDC says nearly 7,000 cases are confirmed or under review.

Michigan remains the hardest-hit state, with 3,309 cases and 44 hospitalizations confirmed.

The fast-food chain has voluntarily and temporarily removed limited ingredients from select restaurants as a precautionary measure.
