Air France, Airbus guilty of manslaughter

A Paris appeals court has found Air France and Airbus guilty of corporate manslaughter for their roles in the 2009 crash of Flight 447.

The disaster, which killed all 228 people on board, was the worst in French aviation history.

The ruling reverses a lower court's decision that had cleared both companies of criminal responsibility.

Families of the victims expressed relief at the verdict, though the companies have indicated they will appeal to France's highest court.
