Venezuela Quake Death Toll Passes 3,500

The confirmed death toll from Venezuela’s twin June earthquakes climbed to 3,535, with over 16,000 injured and thousands displaced.

Families were still digging through rubble with bare hands as international rescue teams began to withdraw.

Survivors criticised the government’s relief efforts, saying authorities had failed to address their needs.

The U.S. provided $300 million in aid using seized Venezuelan oil money.
