Russia launches massive Ukraine attack
In a major escalation of hostilities, Russian forces unleashed a massive wave of drone and missile strikes across Ukraine overnight.
The attack, described as the deadliest of the year, targeted residential areas and critical infrastructure in the capital and several regional hubs.
Ukrainian officials reported at least 18 fatalities, including a five-year-old boy, and scores of injuries as emergency crews worked to clear rubble.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the assault, stating that Russia's actions prove it does not deserve any easing of international sanctions.
