India Lists Pakistan-Tied Terrorists
India's Ministry of Home Affairs formally designated 23 individuals associated with the Pakistan-based militant groups Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed as terrorists under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act on Saturday.
The designations cite the individuals' alleged roles in orchestrating and facilitating attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
Among those listed are a suspect involved in reconnaissance of the Ram temple and the son-in-law of LeT founder Hafiz Saeed.
The move is part of a broader Indian government effort to tighten the legal net around cross-border terror networks and comes ahead of the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament.
