Eight children killed in Louisiana
Tragedy struck Shreveport, Louisiana, where eight children ranging from 1 to 14 years old were fatally shot across multiple locations.
Police Chief Wayne Smith described the scene as extensive and unlike anything the department had previously encountered.
The gunman, who was reportedly related to the victims, fled the scene in a carjacked vehicle before being shot by officers during a pursuit.
Two additional victims remain hospitalized as the community grapples with the scale of the violence.
