Trump extends fragile Iran ceasefire

President Donald Trump has announced an indefinite extension of the ceasefire with Iran, backing away from immediate threats of renewed military strikes.

While the truce remains in place, the United States continues to enforce a total naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a move Trump claims is causing the Iranian regime to collapse financially.

The extension was reportedly granted at the request of Pakistan, which is serving as the primary mediator between Washington and Tehran.

Despite the pause in active combat, tensions remain high as Iran demands the lifting of the blockade as a prerequisite for formal negotiations in Islamabad.
