Vatican offers good offices for Russia-Ukraine settlement

The Vatican has offered its "good offices" to help achieve a settlement in the Russia-Ukraine war, with a papal envoy meeting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow.

The talks covered the Ukrainian settlement, artificial intelligence, and the rights of prisoners of war.

The Vatican said it will continue supporting dialogue while providing humanitarian assistance.

Moscow said it expects the Vatican to pay attention to what it called Kiev's illegal actions.
