Jet Fuel Shortage Threatens Travel
The head of the International Energy Agency has warned that Europe may only have six weeks of aviation fuel remaining.
In response, the Canadian government has suspended federal excise taxes on fuel for five months to mitigate soaring costs.
Travel agents are advising holidaymakers to book now to avoid further surcharges as the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz chokes supply lines.
The crisis has also led to the suspension of some biometric border checks in Europe to prevent further airport delays.
