Israel and Lebanon Peace Talks

Israel and Lebanon Peace Talks

In a historic breakthrough, senior Israeli and Lebanese officials held face-to-face talks at the U.S. State Department this Tuesday.

Chaired by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the preliminary meeting focused on establishing a long-term vision for a delineated border and the potential disarmament of Hezbollah.

While both sides described the exchange as productive, significant hurdles remain as fighting continues on the ground in southern Lebanon.

The talks are seen as a critical component of broader efforts to de-escalate the ongoing war involving Iran and the United States.
