Funeral Director Sentenced After 17 Bodies Found

Robert Bush, 48, the director of Legacy Funeral Directors in Hull, was sentenced for 67 offences including fraud, preventing the lawful and decent burial of bodies, and theft from charities.

Police raided the funeral home and discovered 17 bodies in various states of decomposition, along with evidence that Bush gave bereaved families the wrong ashes.

The court heard harrowing victim impact statements detailing the trauma inflicted on hundreds of families over 12 years.

Bush's crimes, described as 'the most horrendous horror story,' have shocked the nation and prompted calls for tighter regulation of the funeral industry.
