West Bengal Voter Roll Purge
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the central government of using the 'Special Intensive Revision' process to disenfranchise her supporters.
The Supreme Court has expressed concern over the 'margin of error' in the revision but declined to intervene immediately, directing voters to appellate tribunals.
Protesters have taken to the streets in Kolkata, branding the move a 'bloodless political genocide.' The Election Commission maintains that the revision was necessary to remove duplicate and ineligible entries.
