Landslide Buries Homes in China's Chongqing

A landslide in Pengshui County, Chongqing, buried residential buildings and forced more than 1,100 residents to evacuate.

Rescue teams are searching for an unknown number of trapped people after a community worker's warning enabled some to flee.

Eight people were confirmed dead and 34 remained missing, while ten people were rescued from the debris.

The disaster struck a mountainous area prone to geological instability.
