Artemis II lunar mission returns

Astronauts on the Artemis II mission have traveled farther into space than any humans in history, marking a major milestone for the successor to the Apollo program.

During their loop around the moon, the crew captured spectacular 'Earthset' photos and conducted scientific observations of the lunar surface.

The mission, which includes three Americans and one Canadian, is scheduled for a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean this Friday.

Scientists have already begun analyzing the reams of new data and imagery transmitted from the Orion capsule.
