Downton Abbey star Nathalie Baye dies

The French film industry is in mourning following the passing of one of its most versatile and beloved stars.

President Emmanuel Macron led tributes, stating that France had "loved, dreamed, and grown up" with Baye's performances.

Her career spanned over five decades and included collaborations with legendary directors like François Truffaut and Steven Spielberg.

Baye is survived by her daughter, actress Laura Smet, from her high-profile relationship with singer Johnny Hallyday.
