French peacekeeper killed in Lebanon
French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the deadly ambush and identified the fallen soldier as Staff Sergeant Florian Montorio.
The attack took place near the village of Ghandouriyeh, less than two days into a fragile 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
While the militant group has denied involvement, French and UN officials stated that evidence suggests they were responsible.
The killing has raised serious questions about the viability of the truce and the safety of international forces in the region.
