Roblox Launches Youth Accounts

The popular gaming platform will now feature three distinct tiers: Roblox Kids for ages 5-8, Roblox Select for ages 9-15, and standard accounts for those 16 and older.

These changes include expanded parental controls and restricted communication features for younger users.

Roblox CEO David Baszucki stated the initiative aims to separate the gaming experience from the risks of social media.

The update comes as several countries consider or implement outright social media bans for youth under 16.
