Novartis to Buy UK Biotech Myricx Bio for $1.5bn

Myricx Bio, a spin-out from Imperial College and the Francis Crick Institute, has developed a novel class of antibody-drug conjugates aimed at minimizing damage to healthy cells.

The transaction, expected to close in the second half of 2026, is part of Novartis’s strategy to strengthen its cancer-care portfolio.

The deal includes an upfront payment and milestone earn-outs.

The acquisition reflects the continuing appetite for biotech companies with promising early-stage therapies.
