Artemis II crew returns home

NASA's Artemis II crew—Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen—have reunited with their families after splashing down in the Pacific Ocean.

The mission, which took them further from Earth than any human in over half a century, successfully tested the Orion spacecraft's critical systems.

At a celebratory event in Texas, the astronauts reflected on the awe-inspiring sight of Earth as a 'lifeboat' in the universe.

With this phase complete, NASA is now accelerating plans for Artemis III, which aims to dock with a lunar lander in Earth orbit next year.
