ICC Prosecutor Suspended

International Criminal Court chief prosecutor Karim Khan has been suspended from his role amidst an ongoing sexual misconduct investigation.

Khan vehemently denies all allegations, labeling the probe as "politically motivated." His lawyers have stated that he rejects the decision in the strongest terms.

This development follows a period of pressure on Khan, particularly since allegations came to light, and his removal from the ICC's high-profile case against former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte.

The court's oversight body has referred the proceedings to its 125 member states, a move that could potentially lead to Khan's permanent removal from office.
