Russia-Ukraine Easter Ceasefire Fails

Russia-Ukraine Easter Ceasefire Fails

President Volodymyr Zelensky had expressed hope that the temporary halt in hostilities for Orthodox Easter would lead to a more permanent settlement.

However, military commanders on the ground reported 469 violations within the first few hours, casting deep doubt on the sincerity of the Kremlin's order.

Meanwhile, a prisoner exchange mediated by the United Arab Emirates saw 350 servicemen returned to their respective countries.

The failure of the ceasefire comes as international attention remains diverted by the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran.
