Primark to Demerge from ABF

The demerger will break up one of the UK's largest consumer conglomerates after 65 years of unified operations.

Primark will be listed on the London Stock Exchange as a separate company, while ABF will retain its core food businesses, including Twinings and Kingsmill.

The decision follows a strategic review that identified the need for Primark to have its own dedicated board and investment structure.

Despite the announcement, ABF shares slipped as the company warned that the Iran war could impact future profit margins.
