Assam Floods Kill Dozens

Relentless monsoon floods in India’s Assam state have killed at least 35 people and left over 100 missing, with the Brahmaputra and its tributaries flowing above danger levels.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the damage is far greater than anticipated and more bodies are being recovered.

The floods, described as the worst in 60 years, have submerged villages, destroyed crops, and forced mass evacuations.

Helicopters are delivering essentials and medicines to cut-off villages as more rain is forecast.
