Arrest in 1984 murder

The cold case trial follows a decades-long investigation into the death of the 45-year-old victim, who was found with catastrophic head injuries in an alleyway.

Prosecutors allege that the brothers, who were teenagers at the time, had a 'hobby' of attacking men they believed were gay.

The case was reopened after new evidence emerged, leading to the arrest of the Stewarts more than forty years after the crime.

Both men have denied the charges as the trial begins in London.
