Teacher Guilty of Baby's Murder

Jamie Varley, 37, was found guilty of murder, sexual assault of a child under 13, and inflicting grievous bodily harm after a trial at Preston Crown Court.

His partner, John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, was also convicted.

The court heard that Preston Davey had 40 non-accidental injuries by the time he died and was treated as a 'plaything'.

The baby's birth mother, Sarah Davey, was herself jailed as a teenager for the murder of a pensioner.
