Artemis II approaches moon

NASA's Artemis II mission is poised to make history today as the Orion capsule carries four astronauts farther from Earth than any humans in history.

The crew, consisting of three Americans and one Canadian, will conduct a flyby of the moon's far side, capturing high-resolution images of features never seen by the naked eye.

During the maneuver, the spacecraft will experience a 40-minute communications blackout as it passes behind the lunar disk.

This mission marks the first crewed voyage to the lunar vicinity in over half a century, testing critical systems for future landings.
