Judge tosses Trump's WSJ lawsuit

In a significant legal defeat for the president, U.S. District Judge Darrin P. Gayles has thrown out Donald Trump's lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal and Rupert Murdoch.

The suit alleged that the paper tarnished Trump's reputation by reporting on a sexually suggestive birthday card he purportedly sent to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The judge ruled that Trump's complaint did not meet the high legal standard for defamation against a public figure.

While the case was dismissed, the judge has given Trump until April 27 to amend his complaint and refile the suit.
