Trump Pays $5.6M to E. Jean Carroll

Court records confirmed that Carroll received the full $5 million jury award plus interest, ending a years-long legal battle that saw Trump repeatedly challenge the verdict.

The payment was transferred on Monday from an account where it had been held since the 2023 judgment.

Trump had sought to delay the payout while appealing to the Supreme Court, but the justices refused to take up the case in late June.

The resolution closes one chapter of the legal troubles facing the president, though a separate defamation suit by Carroll remains active.
