John Korir breaks Boston Marathon record
In a historic performance under chilly conditions, John Korir shattered the previous course record to claim his second consecutive Boston Marathon title.
Korir's unofficial time of 2:01:42 is the fifth-fastest marathon effort ever recorded.
On the women's side, Sharon Lokedi used a late surge to outpace a strong field and secure her own back-to-back win.
The event also saw Marcel Hug win his ninth men's wheelchair title, while Eden Rainbow-Cooper took the women's wheelchair crown.
