UK braces for record heatwave
The United Kingdom is currently gripped by an unprecedented May heatwave, with temperatures already surpassing 79-year records.
The Met Office has forecast that Monday could see peaks of 35C, which would shatter the all-time May temperature record of 32.8C. Official heat-health alerts have been issued across several regions as the sweltering conditions are expected to persist through the week.
Experts warn that the extreme heat is a significant departure from seasonal norms, matching conditions typically found in the Mediterranean.
