Manitoba to ban youth social media

Manitoba is set to become the first Canadian province to implement a ban on social media for children and teenagers.

Premier Wab Kinew argued that these platforms contribute to rising rates of anxiety and depression and are performing 'awful things' to youth.

The proposed legislation will also restrict access to AI chatbots, which have raised additional safety concerns.
