Radio legend James Valentine dies

Valentine was celebrated for his witty and warm presence on the airwaves, where he hosted the popular 'Afternoons' program.

Before his radio career, he was a prominent saxophonist for the new wave band Models and toured with several major Australian acts.

His family confirmed he passed away surrounded by loved ones, having retired from the ABC only months ago to focus on his health.
