Norway's King Harald V dies at 89

Norway's King Harald V has died at the age of 89 after a brief illness, ending a 35-year reign.

His son has ascended to the throne as King Haakon VIII. Tributes have poured in from world leaders, including King Charles of the United Kingdom, who paid tribute to his 'much-loved' friend.

The new king's wife becomes Queen Mette-Marit, as the country mourns Europe's oldest-reigning monarch.
