Russia, Belarus launch nuclear drills

Belarus and Russia have commenced joint military exercises to practice the deployment and use of tactical nuclear weapons.

The drills, involving over 64,000 troops, have drawn sharp condemnation from Ukraine and NATO allies as a dangerous escalation of regional tensions.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated the exercise is intended to ensure the sovereignty of the two nations against potential aggression.

Ukraine has called for a firm international response, warning that the move crosses a critical 'red line' in the ongoing war.
