Ronnie O’Sullivan Wins Virgo Trophy

The world number one showed vintage form in his final tournament before the World Championship, completely outclassing his long-standing Scottish rival.

O’Sullivan used the event to pay tribute to the late BBC broadcaster John Virgo, for whom the trophy was named.

Following the win, the 50-year-old expressed his desire for more top-level snooker events to return to Ireland, citing the 'special' atmosphere created by local fans.

He will now head to the Crucible as the heavy favorite for another world title.
