Texas sues Netflix for 'spying'

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against Netflix, accusing the streaming giant of illegally collecting data on children and other consumers without consent.

The suit also alleges that the platform was designed to be intentionally addictive to keep users engaged for longer periods.

Prosecutors claim Netflix logs viewing preferences and device information across all profile types, then shares this data with commercial brokers.

The legal action comes as part of a broader push to regulate the data collection practices of major tech platforms.
