Brittney Griner joins Connecticut Sun
Griner's move to Connecticut is strategically timed, as the franchise is scheduled to relocate to her native Houston in 2027.
The deal is part of a broader 'supermax' signing period that also saw the Indiana Fever finalize a record contract with Kelsey Mitchell.
Griner spent last season with the Atlanta Dream following her return to the United States.
Her addition to the Sun's roster is expected to make the team an immediate title contender in their final season in New England.
