Nigeria air strike kills 200

A devastating air strike in northeastern Nigeria has resulted in a massive loss of civilian life, according to local officials and eyewitnesses.

The Nigerian Air Force was reportedly pursuing Islamist militants on Saturday night when planes struck a market in Yobe state, leading to scenes of carnage.

Amnesty International has called for an immediate independent investigation into the incident, which is one of the deadliest of its kind in recent years.

While the military maintains it attacked a terrorist enclave, survivors describe a horrific scene where shoppers and traders were caught in the crossfire.
