Artemis II returns from moon
NASA's Artemis II mission is reaching its dramatic conclusion as the Orion capsule prepares for splashdown off the coast of San Diego.
The crew, including Commander Reid Wiseman and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen, traveled farther from Earth than any humans in history during their lunar flyby.
Reentry represents the mission's most dangerous phase, with the spacecraft traveling at 32 times the speed of sound before deploying parachutes.
Successful recovery will pave the way for future crewed landings on the lunar surface as part of the broader Artemis program.
