Péter Magyar wins Hungary election
The election result marks a dramatic shift in Central European politics, as Magyar's party won a two-thirds majority in Parliament.
EU officials have already arrived in Budapest for high-stakes talks on a roadmap to release approximately 17 billion euros withheld during the Orbán era.
Magyar has accused the outgoing administration of destroying sensitive documents and has called on citizens to report any such acts before he takes office in early May.
While Orbán has suggested he will not resign as head of his Fidesz party, the transition represents a significant blow to the populist movement in Europe.
