Frontier plane hits runway pedestrian

A Frontier Airlines jet struck and killed a trespasser on the runway at Denver International Airport, prompting a major safety investigation.

The collision occurred as the aircraft was accelerating for takeoff, resulting in a fire in one of the engines and a smoke-filled cabin.

All 231 passengers and crew members were forced to evacuate via emergency slides, with several people suffering minor injuries during the process.

Authorities are currently reviewing surveillance footage to determine how the individual managed to breach the airport's high-security perimeter fence.

The NTSB and FAA have launched a full inquiry into the incident.
