Artemis II crew prepares for splashdown
The mission reached a significant milestone this week, breaking the distance record for human spaceflight previously held by Apollo 13.
Astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen are now bracing for the intense 3,000°C temperatures of re-entry before their scheduled splashdown off the coast of San Diego.
During their journey, they captured stunning images of the lunar far side and conducted the first-ever radio call between two different spacecraft in deep space.
NASA meteorologists are closely monitoring a Pacific storm that could impact the precision required for a safe landing on Friday.
