Severe storms, tornadoes batter Northeast US

Powerful storms brought tornadoes, flash flooding, and 95 mph winds to the Northeast US, causing damage and disrupting travel.

A rare tornado hit a beach club near New York City with 100 people inside, though no serious injuries were reported.

States of emergency were declared in parts of New York and Delaware as the storms moved through the region.

The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, during the severe weather.
